this card is fantastic for a kick-off wednesday. i don't have the scratches, but there are some bettable numbers today; for the first time in a while, i really like this slate of races.
r2: comprehensively. thamaturge is clearly the one to beat coming back for a tag for the hot sahadi barn. however, that one has been off over 18 months and we may get a price on this son of sharp victor. he's been largely ignored at the windows in his first two outs but shows two big drills at hollywood for jory, who doesn't win often, but can certainly spring an upset. he gets the outside box and should outrun his odds here.
r3: spendspendspend. this one is stepping way up off the claim for kitchingman and if he's got anything left, hel'll show it here, against a bunch of really nice 50k claimers. what the hell is eyad doing in here, after running only two lengths behind potential monster, burning sun, who will probably go favored in the grade 1 explosive bid this weekend at the fair grounds. mulhall is on fire, but i don't like a fire sale for this gelding. 'spend cubed has run well on this course, at this distance and he'll be a bigger price in this grizzled field than his 4/1 morning line.
r5: cyber slew. no one is riding better than nakatani of late and this son of siberian summer should have no trouble handingline the turf for o'neill. can she stay with the older, more seasoned runners like super high,bear fan and icantgoforthat. well, i get 8/1 to find out, so i'll be in line on 'slew who should get a great trip behind the speed.
r7: erewhon. tought to back a maiden only winner against multiple winners, but erewhon won like a potential superstar last time out when breaking his maiden in january. he stalked the pace and just powerhoused home under a handride. the beyer wasn't huge, but that should help our price today as wango figures to go off chalk for espinoza/hess. erewhon is bred to be any kind and has bene working well for the elder dollase.
